Cornus kousa ‘Satomi Compact’

A hardier form of Cornus kousa ‘Satomi’ with a compact, tidier habit. Deciduous shrub or small tree bearing ovate leaves. Each flower-head is surrounded by dark pink bracts, followed by strawberry-like fruit. Flws: May-Jun. Ht 8-9ft. Deep fertile soil. Best autumn colour on acidic soils. Dislikes chalk.
