Acer palmatum ‘Japanese Sunrise’

Acer palmatum ‘Japanese Sunrise’ is a selection from ‘Sangokaku’ with attractive bark – colours can range from almost yellow to bright red depending on the time of year and the age of bark. Brightest colours are produced in winter and is always best in full sun. It sometimes turns yellow on the north or shady side which gives the plant a totally different look. Small lime green leaves darken as summer progresses, then change to yellow in autumn. Ht: 10-15ft (3m -4.5m) in 10 yrs. Acid to neutral soil.
