Building the chapel
Currently underway in the bottom half of the nursery our new gardens will almost double the size of the nurseries and create a meandering path through manicured gardens, a vegetable patch and a wildflower orchard down to the new lake and chapel. "Gardens are like man’s last contact with nature. It’s trying to create a sense of stillness and peace within people so they feel comfortable in themselves and a garden is something that can do that and give them an incredible sense of introspective serenity.” says owner Peter Stott "The new gardens will make the transition from what will be very organised and colour coordinated and manicured areas to a little chapel and lake set in wild flowers and woodland. It will be a transition through them like life is a transition; I want it to reflect life’s journey through a series of gardens." ![]() |

A testament to obsession! Customer observation May 2011 .
“I try to build gardens with a sense of history. Ruins have that romantic feel to me, the sense of others having lived there before and their spirits left behind.
I love to create something from scratch which others believe to have been there for years and then fallen into a state of dereliction. .
New additions to the nursery include a French-style orchard covered with wild flowers which create a spectacular display, through this travels a winding path which will lead the visitor down through a series of gardens, different in design but each showing the diversity which can be created through planting. At the head of a small lake Peter will build the chapel. Stone built with an old slate roof and frescoed interior, the chapel will be the venue for Peter and partner Joanne McCullock’s wedding. ![]() |
